What is the Flexi-Lox System?
The Flexi-Lox™ System is an anilox cleaning system that consists of two products: a micro-fiber blanket and an aqueous liquid. The products work in tandem to clean anilox rolls as well as the ink supply system (pumps, hoses, ink trains, doctor blades, and printing pates, etc.).

What is the approximate cost associated with using this system?
COST TO FACILITY* (USD)
Average blanket size 40SF =  $1800
Aqueous liquid at 2.5 gallons = $22
Qty / Cleaning cycles per 55 gallon drum = 22
Qty / Cleaning cycles per Blanket = 22
Suggested blanket life: 4.5 months
COST PER CLEAN per STATION =  $105
*considers using 20% reclaimed liquid

The precise cost depends on the size of your machine, the blanket size, the amount of aqueous liquid, etc. However, based on what we have learned from the market, we find that the pricing for our program is competitive and, in many cases, costs less than our competitors.

Please note: The Flexi-Lox™  system has been specifically developed to maximize cleaning effectiveness.

How long does it take to clean a print station?
This depends on how dirty the anilox roll is, however tests have shown that you can see up to a 50% improvement in cell BCM in just twenty minutes when using the Flexi-Lox™ Blanket and Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid together. We advise integrating the system into PM Standard Operating Procedures to ensure rolls stay consistently clean.

Do I have to buy the Flexi-Lox Aqueous Liquid with the Blanket?
On your first order, we recommend ordering both the Flexi-Lox™ Blanket and Aqueous Liquid together to ensure they are used on the machine center anilox roll. All tests indicate the

Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid works more effectively than competitive cleaning solvents. Since the blanket outlasts the Aqueous Liquid, subsequent orders of the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid can be ordered without ordering new Flexi-Lox™ Blankets.

What Size Flexi-Lox blanket should we order?
The Flexi-Lox™ Blankets are available in a variety of sizes.
Request a quote: info@flexilox.com

Does it work better than soda blasting?
Tests have shown it works as well or better than soda blasting without all of the hassles and mess that are associated with that particular procedure.

How many uses will I get out of a blanket?*
There are a lot of factors that can limit or enhance the life of the product. If you follow the instructions of the Standard Operating Procedures, you should expect many uses of the Flexi-Lox™ Blanket. As of now, we know the life of a blanket is roughly 15-22 weeks when using in a weekly PM schedule.

Effectiveness of Cleaning is improved when the blanket is compressed 25%.
(I.E. – Blanket thickness:  .320” – .080” = .240” plate cylinder to Anilox impression)
Note: Material may be compressed up to 50% and will not destroy the blanket or damage the machine.

Can I use any Cleaner?
The Flexi-Lox™ Blanket has been tested with many various solvents. Tests have indicated that the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid bundled with the Flexi-Lox™ Blanket provides superior cleaning over competitive solvents.

Can I clean one print station while printing on others?

Yes, for Servo driven presses

In some cases we have found that it is possible to clean on gear driven presses while printing on other stations.

How to I affix the Flexi-Lox™  Blanket to the cylinder?
We recommend using a fast lock strip (or similar locking device) on the LEAD EDGE. The TRAIL EDGE should be secured with SSI green tape, magnet strips, EVOL strips or fastening pins with an elastomeric band.

How do I set up the up the Flexi-Lox™ System on my machine?
Refer to the Standard Operating Procedures

Can I order Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid even if I don’t order Flexi-Lox Blankets?
Yes, however it’s highly recommended using the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Solution to achieve superior results.

What is the Ph of the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid
Ph  of the Aqueous Liquid is 10.0 – 10.5

Is the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid safe?
YES, it’s Non-VOC and Non-HAP.

“Our Environmental Affairs Group indicates the aqueous solutions has “fewer environmental safety concerns than conventional cleaning liquids” currently being used and has been “APPROVED” for cleaning anilox rolls, chambers and flexo-plates.” WestRock Corporation’s Environmental Affairs Group

Can I dilute the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid?
Yes, you can dilute it 50% with water.

Can the Flexi-Lox™  Aqueous Liquid be used to clean anything else?
YES. The Flexi-Lox™ liquid also cleans doctor blades, pumping systems, chambers, hoses, flexo plates, machine shell, and floors.

How do I dispose of the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid?
Diluted solution, may be disposed into the local sewer.
Dispose of product in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

What safety precautions should I take when using the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Solution?
It’s recommended to use both safety glasses and nitrile gloves, as this is an alkaline based cleaning solution.

How long will the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid last on one print station?
One time use is highly recommended: 2.5 gallons of the solution diluted with 2.5 gallons water for each station.

Instances where you are using for a second run, there are possibilities the contaminated liquid contain residual ink deposits that may cause a less than desirable result. Therefore, we would suggest filtering used Aqueous Liquid and blending about 20% to 75% virgin (fresh) Aqueous Liquid.

When complete, the solution should be *diluted with more water and disposed into the sewer system. Environmental concerns are mitigated when diluting as it has no adverse effects.

Regarding cleaning flexo plates/mounts, the same dilution may be used. The diluted solution can be mixed in a spray bottle. You may also consider using the contaminated solution to clean plates and mounts.

In both cases, we recommend rinsing with fresh water when the cleaning cycle is complete.

How do I store the Flexi-Lox™ Blanket?
Rinse with water and after use, roll up foam side in, and store in the shipping box, wrap around a 36” PVC tube, or hang from plate rack.

How do I set the machine up to clean?
Refer to the Standard Operating Procedures

Does the Flexi-Lox blanket perform differently on different cell count/shape rolls and/or anilox roll manufacturers?
No.

How long does it take to clean an anilox roll?
After the first cleaning, you can expect a regular cleaning schedule. The time investment to run the Flexi-Lox™ System should be well under 20 minutes. Should the anilox roll be very dirty or plugged, our
testing indicates up to 30 minutes maybe needed to return the anilox roll to optimal
standards.

Where is the blanket made?
Made Proudly in the USA, Canada, Central America and Europe.

When the blanket wears out, is it possible for the pieces of the worn-out blanket fibers (hairs) to get trapped inside anilox cells?
The blankets gradually wear out, and the fibers are easily rinsed away with the aqueous solution and then clean water in the final rinse. The blanket fibers have zero affinity to ceramic or chrome rolls; there are no adverse effects to the secondary equipment such as pumping and filtration.

Can I order the Blanket in smaller pieces so it is easier to install on larger presses?
Yes, due to shipping costs, we recommend that the blanket is cut in half and butted together when it is being mounted on the plate cylinder.

New Anilox Cleaning System

Innovation Improves PM Programs

The nature of flexographic printing and the process that creates beautiful reproduction on heavy corrugated material requires an innovative, quick and painless weekly cleaning and maintenance solution.

With time and use, anilox rolls become clogged or plugged with ink residue consequently your print
reproduction suffers in density, quality and clarity.

Like any other cell equipment, the anilox roll must be properly cleaned.

THAT SOLUTION IS HERE!

Sustainable Solutions International, LLC presents the Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Cleaning System. Clean your
anilox rolls and perform preventative maintenance with no mess and very little downtime.

Combining the Flexi-Lox™ Aqueous Liquid and Flexi-Lox™ Blanket (A & B) to achieve AMAZING RESULTS
without the issues that usually accompany cleaning Anilox Rolls.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

This old saying couldn’t be truer of the NEW Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Cleaning System.

“Necessity is the mother of invention.”

When it comes to the bulky, messy and time consuming ineffective methods for cleaning anilox roll machines, things needed to change.

Welcome to the Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Cleaning System, where innovation meets a little common sense and improves preventative maintenance programs by leaps and bounds. The Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Cleaning System eliminates inefficient and cost prohibitive methods of cleaning anilox rolls machines like soda blasting, brushing and the use of dangerous chemicals.

Flexographic printing onto heavy corrugated material requires that the roll printers are cleaned weekly for optimum results. Past “solutions” were anything but!

Clogged anilox rolls impair the quality of prints and often require expensive and dreaded reprints. With the Flex-Lox™ Anilox Cleaning System, plugged and clogged anilox rolls can be a thing of the past!

How to Clean Anilox Rolls with the Flexi-Lox™ System?

Sustainable Solutions International’s new Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Roll Cleaning System uses a patented blanket and an environmentally safe Aqueous Liquid cleaning solution, to both unclog cells and thoroughly clean Anilox Rolls.

Does your Anilox Roll PM Program MAKE you money?

Press Operators will find the Flexi-Lox™ System quick, painless and far superior to all past methods. Due to the new and innovative products and the simple and quick process, Anilox Roll printing can now be more profitable.

Previous to the invention of the Flexi-Lox™ Anilox Roll Cleaning System, press operators could spend hours just attempting to clean their Flexographic machines. The press time lost, the labor involved in the preventative maintenance as well as the reduced quality of end-product costs printing companies hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

Initial cleaning shouldn’t impact press time for more than 40 minutes and with regular use, the Flexi-Lox™ System, cleans Anilox Rolls in just under 30 minutes.
